Thank you. xo
Thank you. xo
You didn’t have to be anon to ask me this?
Anyway, yes I was christened Catholic, in no way am I catholic, I did not have a communion and I wasn’t confirmed, I think the catholic religion is hypocritical and harmful to the global community as a whole the way it lectures and dictates on issues it has no right to talk on which endanger peoples health and lives. That is not what their God is supposedly about, they are taking what could be a good thing for people and making is bad. I have a faith and that is very different than having a religion, the closet ideals I attribute what I believe God to be about is some of the christian ones, but that is all very lose. Saying that I should care about christmas beacuse I am a catholic or christian is silly, Jesus was not born on Dec 25th. The bible never dates jesus birth, but in Luke 2:8 they talk about the shepherds tending their flock by night, shepherds only ever did this during lambing season, which is the spring, those shepherds then visited jesus at his birth! The church for many years placed no emphasis on the nativity being in dec and never corrected it, but to offset the solstice celebrations and draw attention away and towards them they decided to state that he was born on that day. I don’t see the Bible as being the way, the truth and the light, just some stories that give you an idea of a better way to live your life and if some people need that rather than to look to themselves so be it, but there is partial everyday truths such as that of the lambing season.
Back to the real point why I don’t like christmas, I have seasonal affective + other low moods etc which I have had for 12 years and I don’t actually socialise very well, especially with my family so maybe that’s the reason, or the fact that its a over-materialistic day where people place too much emphasis on spending money and eating til they are sick, its just a massive build up to just another day, plus the tv has gotten crap and I’m just a bit bored by it! Although I am extremely grateful for everything that was given to me and I was very spoilt this year! Maybe its lost its magic and I need to go back to being a kid again to really enjoy it, but that ain’t happening!! Xo
